I am using this blog simply for this class, because I already have a functioning blog at http://dlavender.edublogs.org/
Having a presence online, I have found, has been beneficial to me because I feel as if I am always covered due to the fact that my students can always find their materials, due dates, and class assignments online. This eliminates all excuses, and allows parents to view assignments and materials. My blog saves me countless hours of documentation in the long run.
The only foreseeable disadvantages is becoming so "out there" to the world. This is why I do not put personal information or pictures on my blog.
